Broward Sheriff’s Office Recommends SaferWatch App to Report Non-emergency Incidents

PARKLAND, FL- Broward Sheriff Gregory Tony has been making changes since he took office to ensure improved public safety. The Broward Sheriff's Office is endorsing the SaferWatch App to submit non-emergency incidents. SaferWatch is a free app that gives students, teachers, parents and community members in Broward County the ability to report bullying, perceived threats and suspicious activity to law enforcement on a secure network. It also provides real time two-way communication which will allow BSO to receive the information and take the appropriate action immediately. It also provides detailed safety instructions based on the incident and allows for users to contribute information.

“It is of the utmost importance that our children are learning in a safe environment. The SaferWatch App gives students, parents, teachers or anyone in Broward County the ability to send non-emergency text, photo, video, and audio tips from a smartphone to us. It’s a fast and easy way to report bullying, something suspicious you might see or a perceived threat, without fear of retaliation, embarrassment or labeling.
