The Fort Lauderdale Police Department is excited to announce our partnership with SaferWatch, a free mobile app designed to facilitate two-way communication between its users and the Fort Lauderdale Police Department.
Through the convenience of a smartphone, users are encouraged to “See Something, Send Something,” by submitting non-emergency tips directly to the Fort Lauderdale Police Department. These tips can be sent anonymously and can include photos and videos. Once the Fort Lauderdale Police Department receives the information, the appropriate unit will begin processing.
Users can also subscribe to nearly 200 pre-mapped locations within the City of Fort Lauderdale, including the neighborhoods, schools, and high traffic areas such as Las Olas. Once subscribed to a location, users will begin receiving real-time safety alerts posted by the Fort Lauderdale Police Department.
Tips that are received that fall outside of our jurisdiction will be routed to the appropriate agency. The app does not replace 911 and is not to be used to submit information that requires an emergency response. As always, please dial 911 for emergencies.
The Fort Lauderdale Police Department encourages our neighbors to download the SaferWatch app (iOS/Android) and subscribe to locations of their choice. To download and learn more about SaferWatch, go to FLPDAlerts.com.
